Splatoon Wii U Game Sells Over 1 Million Worldwide

The official Japanese Twitter account of Nintendo's Splatoon Wii U game announced on Wednesday that the game has sold over 1 million copies worldwide.

Nintendo released the game in Japan on May 28, and released the game in North America and Europe a day later on May 29.

Nintendo began streaming a new television commercial for the game on Tuesday.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Squid Girl) manga creator Masahiro Anbe previously drew art featuring the "Inkling" characters from the game together with characters from the Squid Girl manga, which featured in the Weekly Shōnen Champion and Famitsū magazines.
