Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions Film's Poster, More Staff Revealed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The staff of the Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions anime film revealed the film's full poster online on Sunday, after it was previously revealed at a Yu-Gi-Oh! panel at Comic Con International on Saturday. The poster features a new character, and reveals that the film will open in Japan during Golden Week 2016. The tagline on the poster reads, "Once more, to that fighting stage."

The poster reveals that Yu-Gi-Oh! manga creator Kazuki Takahashi is in charge of the film's script and character designs, and is also serving as chief production supervisor. Satoshi Kuwabara (Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal II) is directing the film.

The film will open later in 2016 outside of Japan.

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine teases the film's story, which takes place six months after the end of the manga:

In the past Yūgi Yami and Kaiba have clashed many times!! Yami Yūgi, who resides in Yūgi Mutō's body, and Kaiba will have a duel that bets their prides and accepts each other's mutual experience.

Shunsuke Kazama will return to voice Yūgi Mutō, and Kenjiro Tsuda will return to voice Seto Kaiba as the stars of the film.

4K Media announced in June 2014 that a new Yu-Gi-Oh! movie was in development in Japan.
