2nd Kizumonogatari Film Opens in Japan Next Summer

The official website for the Kizumonogatari film trilogy announced on Monday that Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen (Passionate Blood), the second of the three films, will open in Japan in summer 2016.
The first film in the trilogy, Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen (Iron and Blood), will open in Japanese theaters on January 8. The film is listed with a 60-minute run time.
Kizumonogatari is the third volume in NisiOisin's Monogatari book series and is a prequel to Bakemonogatari. It tells the story of how protagonist Koyomi encounters the female vampire that would turn him and his journey to return to his normal life. Vertical released the novel in English earlier this month.
Akiyuki Simbo is once again credited as chief director at the anime studio SHAFT, and Tatsuya Oishi is the director. Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka are designing the characters. Yota Tsuruoka is directing the sound, and Satoru Kousaki is composing the music.
