The official website of Cygames' Granblue Fantasy smartphone game revealed on Monday that the game has 8 million registered users. The game will hold a campaign to celebrate the achievement.

The website also unveiled details on its "Slayers Magna" crossover event. The event's story centers on a phenomenon occurring in the ancient battlefield that is taking out Skyriders one by one. Players will launch an investigation into the phenomenon and meet the traveling sorceress Lina Inverse and her bodyguard Gourry Gabriev. Naga will try to stop the players from achieving their goal.

Megumi Hayashibara, Yasunori Matsumoto, and Maria Kawamura are reprising their roles as Lina, Gourry, and Naga from the various Slayers anime, OVAs, and films. The event launched on Friday, and celebrates the 25th anniversary of Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi's Slayers light novel series.

Cygames previously announced that the game is receiving an anime adaptation produced by Cygames, Aniplex, and A-1 Pictures.

Cygames released Granblue Fantasy for iOS and Android devices in December 2013. The game features music from Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu and art by Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy IX art designer Hideo Minaba. The game previously released an anime promotional video animated by Lay-duce.
