Mengo Yokoyari's Scum's Wish Manga Ends on March 25

posted on by Kevin Yuan

Manga artist Mengo Yokoyari announced on Thursday that her Scum's Wish (Kuzu no Honkai) manga will end in next year's fourth issue of Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine on March 25. Square Enix will also publish the manga's eighth and final volume on the same day.

Yokoyari launched the manga in 2012, and Square Enix will publish both the seventh volume and a "volume 7.5" official fanbook on December 24. The manga's final volume will have a limited edition when it ships on March 25, which will bundle a "premium visual collection."

Crunchyroll is publishing the manga digitally in English, and Yen Press is publishing the series in print in North America. Crunchyroll describes the story:

Hanabi and Mugi are bathed in envious gazers from all around as a beautiful couple with excellent moral conduct. But these two apparently perfect people in an apparently perfect relationship share a secret they can't tell anyone.

Scum's Wish will receive an anime and a live-action series that will adapt the entire manga series. Amazon Prime Video will exclusively stream the anime series in Japan and abroad, and will premiere the first episode on January 11, before the anime premieres on Fuji TV on January 12. The live-action adaptation premieres on Fuji TV on January 18.
