The official website for the Granblue Fantasy the Animation television anime series revealed on Friday that the series will have seven Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes. The site additionally lists that each of the volumes will include two episodes, for a total of 14 episodes.

The series premiered in Japan on Saturday. Crunchyroll and Daisuki both began streaming the first episode on Saturday. The series will also stream on Anime Strike.

A Zankutinzeru-Hen (Zankutinzeru Arc) special debuted in Japan on January 21, before the main television series. Crunchyroll, Daisuki, and Anime Strike are also streaming that special.

The anime adapts Cygames' Granblue Fantasy smartphone game. Yuuki Itoh (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid) is directing the anime at A-1 Pictures with Ayako Kurata as anime series director. Cygames itself is credited for the scripts, and Toshifumi Akai (Kokoro Connect, Sound of the Sky) is designing the characters. Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy games I-XI), Tsutomu Narita (Final Fantasy XIV composer and arranger), and Yasunori Nishiki are composing the music. BUMP OF CHICKEN performs the anime's opening theme song "GO," and HARUHI performs the ending theme song "Sora no Parade" (Sky Parade).
