Riichirou Inagaki, Boichi's Dr. Stone Manga Gets 2nd Printing of Volume 1

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Manga creator Riichirou Inagaki revealed on Twitter on Friday that the first volume of his and Boichi's Dr. Stone manga is getting a second printing. The first volume shipped on July 4. Inagaki apologized to fans who couldn't get the volume because it was sold out, and said it should take up to two weeks for bookstores to restock.

Viz Media published the manga's first three chapters in English as Shueisha published them in Japan as part of the company's "Jump Start" initiative. Viz Media then added the series to its regular lineup for its digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

Boichi (Sun-Ken Rock) and Inagaki (author of Eyeshield 21) launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on March 6. In the story, Taiju is about to confess to the girl he loves when a mysterious force hits the Earth and turns every human into stone. Taiju and his friend Senku wake up thousands of years later and begin to rebuild society.

Another new addition to Weekly Shonen Jump, Taishi Tsutsui's We Never Learn manga, also received a second printing of its first volume, which shipped on June 2.
