Code Geass: Lancelot & Guren Spinoff Manga Launches

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website of Kadokawa's Comic Newtype magazine launched the prologue chapter of the Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch Gaiden - Shiro no Kishi, Kurenai no Yasha (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion - Lancelot & Guren) spinoff manga last Sunday. The manga's first chapter will debut on December 22.

The manga centers on stories about both Suzaku and Kallen that were not portrayed in the original story. Bisui Takahashi (Shūmatsu Sekai no Spellbreaker light novels) is penning the scenario, and Takahiro Kimura is drawing the character designs. Astrays is responsible for the new Knightmare Frame designs.

The franchise is also getting another spinoff titled Code Geass Danshō - Mosaic no Kakera (Code Geass Story Fragment - Piece of the Mosaic). The new work will debut this fall on the official website of Yatate Bunko, Sunrise's new light novel imprint. The work will be an omnibus work that will focus on six different protagonists whose lives are affected and changed by the events of the main story.

Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Kōdō (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Awakening Path), the first film in the planned compilation film trilogy for the Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 anime series, opened on October 21. Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Handō (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Rebellion Path), the second film, opens on February 10. Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch - Ōdō (Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion - The Imperial Path), the third film, is slated for May 2018.

The franchise is receiving a sequel project titled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection). The format of the sequel has not yet been revealed.
