Ryota Ohsaka: Ace of Diamond Anime Is 'Not Over, Will Continue'

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Voice actor Ryota Ohsaka, the voice of the lead character eijun Sawamura in the Ace of Diamond (Daiya no A) anime, stated during the "Daiya no A The ORCHESTRA" concert on Sunday that the anime will continue, though he did not say when. "The anime is not over! It will continue for sure," he said.

Yūji Terajima's original baseball manga inspired a television anime that premiered in 2013, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A second season of the anime premiered in April 2015, and Crunchyroll also streamed the series as it aired until March 2016. The staff and cast will hold an "Ace of Diamond All-Star Game III" event at Tokyo's Jingu Stadium on November 25.

Terajima launched the baseball manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2006, and Kodansha released the 10th volume of the manga's "act 2" in December. The manga won the shōnen category of the 34th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2010. Kodansha Comics began releasing the manga digitally in English last March, and it released the seventh volume digitally on January 2.
