Boruto, Pokémon Sun & Moon Anime Switch Timeslots to Sunday Starting in October

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

TV Tokyo announced on Thursday that the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime and the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime will both change timeslots to a new one-hour anime block that will air on Sundays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. starting on October 7.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations will move from airing on Thursdays at 7:25 p.m. to airing on Sundays at 5:30 p.m., and Pokémon Sun & Moon will change from airing on Thursdays at 6:55 p.m. to airing on Sundays at 6:00 p.m. A spokesperson for the channel said that the change is so that families can relax on a day off and watch the shows together.

The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo in April 2017, and originally aired on Wednesdays at 5:55 p.m. The anime moved to its Thursdays at 7:25 p.m. timeslot in May.

Viz Media is simulcasting the series on Hulu as it airs in Japan, and Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime. The anime will begin airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block on September 29.

The anime is based on Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto sequel manga, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2016.

The Pokémon Sun & Moon television anime series premiered in Japan in 2016, and Disney XD is airing the series in the United States. Viz Media has licensed the series.
