Ulysses Anime Listed With 12 Episodes

The official website for the anime of Mikage Kasuga's Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc to Renkin no Kishi (Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemist Knight) novel series is listing the anime with three Blu-ray Disc releases in Japan, with a total of 12 episodes. The three Blu-ray Disc volumes are slated to ship in Japan on December 21, January 25, and February 22, respectively.
The anime will premiere on October 7 on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m., followed by Sun TV at 11:30 p.m., and it will then premiere on BS Fuji on October 8 at 24:00 (effectively October 9 at 12:00 a.m.). The series will stream through various services in Japan, and Crunchyroll will stream the series this fall. Funimation will stream an English dub for the anime.
The novel series' story takes place in 15th-century France, during the Hundred Years' War with England. Montmorency, the son of a noble, immerses himself in the study of magic and alchemy at a school for knights. However, after France's defeat at Agincourt, the school is disbanded and Montmorency is forced to flee. While on the run he meets a miraculous village girl named Jeanne.
Shin Itagaki (Teekyū all nine seasons, Basquash!, Wake Up, Girls! New Chapter) is directing the anime at AXsiZ (Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Ms. Koizumi loves ramen noodles). Ryunosuke Kingetsu (Märchen Mädchen, Ninja Nonsense, Tales of Symphonia the Animation: Tethe'alla Episode) is handling the series composition. Jouji Sawada (Golden Kids) is handling the animation character designs, Ryousuke Naya (Magical Girl Site, Haitai Nanafa) is the sound director, and Taku Iwasaki (Gurren Lagann, Bungo Stray Dogs, Black Butler) is composing the music.
