Sega's Revolve8 Smartphone Game Launches in N. America on February 5

Sega revealed on Thursday that it will release its Revolve8 real-time-strategy game for smartphones on February 5 in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Turkey, South Africa, and a total of 100 other countries and regions. The game will be available in five languages: Spanish, French, Japanese, English, and Traditional Chinese.

Sega will have a "pre-launch" for the game on January 17 in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao in the same five languages. The company will launch the game in Japan on January 22.

Sega describes the game:

This all-star team brings to the table a cast of funky Heroes who will shatter your expectations. The player wields a deck of 8 cards, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. They then aim to destroy their opponent's towers within the time limit of 3 minutes to achieve victory. The rules are simple, but the cards and powerful Hero skills they use opens up players to fun and strategic real-time duels.

The staff includes:

• Character Designer: Koji Igarashi (Castlevania, Tokimeki Memorial)
• Character Artist: Ryota-H (Shingeki no Bahamut TWIN HEADS manga)
• Sound Producers: Shunsuke Tsuchiya (Stella Glow), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears)

Igarashi's redesigned fairy tale characters for the game include the motorcycle-riding idol Cinderella, the social media-obsessed Red Riding Hood, and the vain explorer Sinbad.
