Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films announced on Sunday that its screening of the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection (Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch) sequel anime film in the Philippines will open on May 29.

The film opened on February 9 in 120 theaters in Japan, debuted at #5 at the Japanese box office, and earned 286.65 million yen (about US$2.59 million) in its opening weekend. The film has since earned more than 1 billion yen (about US$9 million) as of late March. Kōjirō Taniguchi, the film's producer, revealed earlier this month that the film is "phase 1" of a 10-year plan for new content in the Code Geass franchise.

Director Goro Taniguchi and many of the key staff members returned for the movie. The film's story begins in the world two years after Zero Requiem. The story is complete in one film, serving as a finale.

Leo Ieiri performed the opening theme song "Kono Sekai de" (In This World), and Unione performed the ending theme song "Revive." In addition, Ali Project performed the insert song "Utsukushiki Kemonotachi no Tame no" (For the Beautiful Creatures).
