The teaser website for the 2013 television anime adaptation of Miyuki Abe's Hakkenden: Tōhō Hakken Ibun manga opened on Saturday and revealed the cast:

Tetsuya Kakihara as Shino Inuzuka, one of the few survivors after a mysterious illness swept through Ōtsuka village five years ago. He holds the demon blade Murasame.

Satoshi Hino as Sōsuke Inukawa, another survivor of Ōtsuka village. He was raised with Shino and Hamaji like siblings, and he acts as a guardian for Shino.

Ayahi Takagaki as Hamaji, the third survivor of Ōtsuka village. She is like a little sister to Shino and Sōsuke.

Nobuhiko Okamoto as Murasame, a demon blade concealed in Shino's body. It can take the form of a crow that is capable of human speech.

The site and the November issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Ciel magazine also revealed on Saturday that there will be an event in Tokyo on December 9.

Osamu Yamasaki will be the anime's chief director, while Mitsue Yamazaki will be its director. Both Yamasaki and Yamazaki will be responsible for the series scripts, while Hiromi Kato will act as character designer. The series will be produced at Studio DEEN.
