Gackt Games It Up Every Night for A Year

Gives fans a chance to win signed Nestle goods

Sometimes celebrities do interesting things to get in touch with their fans. While meeting them in person is one way to go about it, another is to show your fans that you're another person just like them. And what better way is there to show your humanity than night upon night of continual video gaming. Nestle of Japan is starting their latest collaborative campaign with J-Rock star GACKT who, through their official YouTube Channel, will be dedicating some of his time every night for the next year to playing video games.

Fittingly titled "Game Center," the series will feature a new video of GACKT playing a video game every night for 365 days straight. Each video will be about 5 to 10 minutes in length. In all, GACKT is expected to play somewhere between 5 and 10 different games every month. On the final day of each month, GACKT will be wrapping up the month of gaming by looking back on the highlights of the different games that he had played over the roughly 30 previous days.

So far, GACKT's lineup has consisted of Megaman 2, Super Dodge Ball, and River City Ransom. It's thoroughly entertaining to watch GACKT's fairly consistent expression throughout his playthroughs, even as he enters some particularly frustrating parts of the games.

Of course, what would a promotional campaign be without fabulous prizes to give out? The first of these is a signed "Nescafe Dolce Gusto," which will be given out to one lucky individual through Nestle's website. One may enter the contest by spending 100 Nestle coins, which can be earned through various activities in their online community.
