Flickr User Collects Covers of Weekly Shonen Jump From the Beginning

Flip through the pages of manga history with this museum which collects old Jump scans.

In Japan, Weekly Shonen Jump is a household name. Having been in publication as a weekly manga magazine for 45 years now, Jump has almost become synonymous with the manga publishing industry. Flicker user Kami Sama Explorer seems to have made it their mission to collect as many images from past issues of the magazine as possible. The resulting gallery is quite impressive.

While the current display may not be complete just yet, it does contain some of the most momentous issues that Jump has ever printed. By visiting this digital museum, you can see scans from the early years of some of the magazine's most iconic series, such as Rurouni Kenshin, Hunter x Hunter, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Bleach, and more.

In particular, the owner of the flicker account seems to be a particular fan of the work of Akira Toriyama, devoting a separate section of the account to articles on the manga visionary, as well as sketches, articles, and advertisements from his masterpiece, Dragon Ball.

Kami Sama Explorer also accepts contributions from outside fans to help complete the museum. If you happen to have any rare scans from old issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, you can send a message to the account owner and send him a link to pictures of the issues in question.
