Patlabor Film Series' Command Vehicle is Up for Auction

A command vehicle for The Next Generation -Patlabor- movie series is up for auction for any fan willing to drop 9,500,000 yen (about US$79,021). The auction opened on Friday and will accept bidders until May 7. So far, no one has offered up a bid.

According to the auction specifics, the vehicle as only 1,110 km on it, has a manual transmission, and is made from a 1963 Ferret armoured car. It's also street legal and seats two. The previous owner uploaded a video showing the vehicle's detailing and handling. It was since repainted for the Patlabor films.

The live-action films have also garnered attention for the traveling life-size Patlabor AV-98 Ingram. The robot has appeared all over Japan with recent stops at Himeji Castle in Hyōgo Prefecture, The Japan Self-Defense Forces' Tsuiki Air Field, and Shinjuku City.
