Gou Ayano Jokes About Marrying Takayuki Yamada

posted on by Eric Stimson

Ayano and Yamada

At an event celebrating the completion of the live-action adaptation of Ken Wakui's manga Shinjuku Swan, lead actors Gō Ayano (Lupin III's Goemon, Gatchaman's Joe) and Takayuki Yamada (MW's Yūtarō, Crows Zero's Tamao) talked about their feelings about each other and their costars. The conversation turned to the topic of which actor was more attractive. Ayano said, "Takayuki has the ability to get into [your heart] just by looking at you like this." "What do you know about me?" Yamada shot back. "I know all kinds of things about you," Ayano replied cheekily. "In about two years' time I'm thinking about putting you in my family register." (In Japan each family has a registry, called the koseki, so his remark is a synonym for marriage.)

"This is the first time I've heard about it. Makes my heart beat," Yamada retorted.

Shinjuku Swan is set to premiere in Japan on May 30. It follows Tatsuhiko Shiratori (Ayano), who scouts promising young women to work in the bars and nightclubs of Kabuki Town, Tokyo.
