Cardcaptor Sakura Gets Charming Watch, Umbrella

The popular magical girl classic Cardcaptor Sakura has recently served as the inspiration for some new accessories.
SuperGroupies, the Japanese fashion site, is set to release two new pieces of apparel stylized with a bright pink color and cute fashion points all too indicative of the manga's aesthetic.
The first is an analog charm wristwatch, created in collaboration with designer Feerique Gateau. Gold-rimmed and sporting a pink suede strap, this cheery timepiece makes a subtle yet adorable statement of style.
It even comes complete with a set of eight interchangeable charms that can be inserted into the watch; among these charms are likenesses of the manga's mascots Kero-chan and Spinel Sun, both versions of Sakura's key as well as the two forms of her magic arsenal: the Clow Cards and Sakura Cards. The watch is set to come out this September and will go for about 12,000 yen (about US$99).
The second, a SuperGroupies exclusive, is an umbrella functional in both rain and shine. Inspired by the titular character, Sakura Kinomoto, the umbrella utilizes the bright pink cloth as well as a pearl-white handle to display a markedly girlish appeal.
Printed on the cloth are stars, crescent moons, and even Kero-chan's face.
The frilly umbrella is accentuated by a red wrapping strap that becomes a cute red ribbon when unfolded. This umbrella will also be released in September for 5,800 yen (US$47.82), with pre-orders being accepted up until June 7.
SuperGroupies have drawn lots of inspiration from magical girls as of late. Just last month, they released a whole set of umbrellas designed to represent the Sailor Guardians from Sailor Moon. In March, they released apparel designed after Homura Akemi from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, also including an umbrella.
