If you've ever flipped through a manga, you'll find character profiles tucked between chapters that reveal everything you wanted to know about the series' stars, like favorite foods, height, strengths and weaknesses, and of course birthdays. This can be fun to find out, especially if you're one of the people born on a not so fortuitous day, like April 1 or December 24-25. Commiserating with Cardcaptor Sakura or Attack on Titan's Levi makes it that much better.
A Japanese website has compiled a staggering amount of anime character birthdays that you can look up by date (the green squares), anime title (blue squares), or character name (yellow squares). The latter two require a little more Japanese language finesse.
Looking at today's birthdays, you can see that Un (Show By Rock!!), O D (Gatchaman Crowds), Ichiro Sakai (Ace of Diamond), Jūzo Suzuya (Tokyo Ghoul), Nachi (Senran Kagura), Hungary (Hetalia), and Moegi (Naruto) are all celebrating today.
Director Hideaki Anno, who recently turned 55-years-old, shares a birthday with The IDOLM@STER twins Ami and Mami Futami. Legendary mangaka Osamu Tezuka's birthday (which is also a national holiday in Japan), is also the birthday of Armin Arlert (Attack on Titan), Yūgao Uzuki (Naruto), Kagura (Gintama), Erika Karisawa (Durarara!!), Sapphire Kawashima (Sound! Euphonium), Cocoa Shuzen (Rosario + Vampire), and Mikan Yūki (To Love-Ru).
