Snow Miku Joins Forces with Hokkaido Baseball Team

Fans treated to her rendition of team's theme song

Snow Miku, a version of Hatsune Miku that promotes Hokkaido's winter sports and festivals, isn't taking the summer off this year. Instead, she's joining the local baseball team, the Hokkaido Nippon Ham-Fighters, to promote the Asian Festa 2015, a celebration of Japan's neighbors in East Asia. This poster pairs her in a modified Fighters uniform with the Fighters' outfielder, Yang Dai-Kang.

Further details are yet unavailable, but spectators at the June 9-11 games against the Yomiuri Giants received these clear files, which explain who Snow Miku is.

During the seventh inning, they were also treated to Snow Miku's rendition of the Fighters' theme song, produced by Hokkaido native Waka/IMBK.

The Asian Festa will be held from July 31 to August 2. Snow Miku has already virtually taken over Hokkaido's Snow Festival. Her design changes annually, although the Fighters version of Snow Miku is quite different from this year's design.

Anime often collaborate with baseball teams to boost their popularity; recent examples include the Chūnichi Dragons promoting Ace of Diamond, Wake Up, Girls! cheering on the Tōhoku Golden Eagles, and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO! supporting the Chiba Lotte Marines.
