The curtain is set to close on these Sailor Guardians and their battle against evil.

The most recent live-action musical adaptation of the classic magical girl franchise Sailor Moon, known as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon ~Un Nouveau Voyage~, will run from September 18-27 at the Tokyo AiiA 2.5 Theater and from October 2-4 at the Sankei Hall Breeze Theater in Osaka. This musical will see many of its key actors graduating from their roles, namely the five main Sailor Guardians.

Satomi Ōkubo (Sailor Moon), Kanon Nanaki (Sailor Mars), Yū Takahashi (Sailor Jupiter) and Shiori Sakata (Sailor Venus) each began in 2013 with the musical Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon - La Reconquista. Momoyo Koyama (Sailor Mercury) replaced Miyabi Matsūra in 2014 for the second musical, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon ~Petite Étrangère~. Each of these cast members will give their final performance as the Guardians come October.

The main cast recently uploaded a video on YouTube to excite fans for the upcoming musical as well as give their thoughts on their upcoming final performances.

  • Koyama: "This time, we'll be seeing three new Guardians: Uranus, Neptune and Saturn. Along with us, Pluto and Chibi Moon, that makes ten Guardians total! Please look forward to all of us powering up together!
  • Nanaki: "I can't wait to play the passionately youthful Rei, protect Usagi to my last breath, and show everyone our powerful bonds!"
  • Takahashi: "Bring your family and friends and cheer us on in Tokyo and Osaka!"
  • Sakata: "I'm a little sad that the five of us will be graduating from our roles... but I'd love it if you all came to see us!"
  • Okubo: "Un Nouveau Voyage is French for 'a new voyage', which is what our graduation feels like. ... Please watch our bonds at work until the very end!"
    • Announced back in May, this musical will feature the largest main cast in the musicals thus far, introducing fan favorites Sailor Uranus and Neptune as well as Sailor Saturn.

An interesting thing to note is that Yūga Yamato, the actress that has continued to portray Tuxedo Mask since 2013, will not graduate from her role along with her veterans.
