Elentari Cosplay Recreates Perfect Howl's Moving Castle

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Sonja Cool otherwise known as Elentari Cosplay of Hopkins, Minnesota recreated Howl's steampunk castle in stunning detail for over a year. She began the process in January 2014 and although it debuted at CONvergence earlier this month, she's already added more details.

The cosplay started with a base of chicken wire, 12-gauge wire, mattress pad foam, and EVA craft foam. The house details were created with foam poster board and Apoxie sculpt. LED lights were used to light up the windows and a tongue and smoke canisters were added to the front to balance the weight. Elentari Cosplay used a harness to carry the 30lb cosplay.

She took home the “Best Master” and “People's Choice” awards at the convention's Masquerade contest.
