The website Anime! Anime! held a poll from August 26-31 asking its readers which original series is most deserving of a sequel. A total of 13,752 people responded to the poll, 80% of which were women.

The anime series, which aired in 2011, did receive two compilation films followed by Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- anime film sequel last year. The film opened to the tune of 130 million yen (US$1,077,988).

Second place went to Gen Urobuchi, Naoyoshi Shiotani, and Katsuyuki Motohiro's dystopian crime procedural Psycho-Pass. Originally animated by Production I.G, a second season by Tatsunoko Production aired last year followed by a film in January.

The rest of the results include:

  5. Shirobako
  7. Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet
