Fragrance Lets You Savor the Aroma of a Woman Fresh Out of a Bath
posted on by Eric Stimson
Tired of the usual selection of fragrances for colognes, perfumes and air fresheners? DMM, the website behind hit games like Kantai Collection and Tōken Ranbu, is expanding into e-commerce, and one of its offerings is a line of decidedly unusual and very specific fragrances developed by the company ZaaZ. The choices so far are (these are official translations):
- The Smell of a Girl Wrapped in a Bath Towel After Shower
- The Smell of Freshly Cut-Down Wood
- The Rosy Fragrance of a Princess, Turning Back to a Lad Who Called Her
- The Smell of Lightly-Toasted Bread, You Enjoy at a Cafe in a Town on a Hill
- The Smell of Black Coffee, A Bearded Man Poured in a Texan Wild, in 1872
Kentarō Kawaguchi, president of ZaaZ, also claims that the fragrances incorporate subtle factors like temperature and humidity that affect smell. The Bath Towel scent therefore recreates the warmth and humidity bodies exude after taking a shower.
DMM also offers the ZaaZ 3, a machine that can spray scents up to 165 m² (541 square feet). It handles up to three liquid cartridges which can be customized based on about 2,000 prepared base scents. For instance, customers to a cafe can enjoy the scent of "canned coffee at a rest area late at night" or the aroma of "a cappuccino poured by an Italian barista." It is marketed towards businesses, especially those that are food-related.
The regular scent line costs 7,106 yen ($59) each; the ZaaZ 3 costs 98,000 yen ($816). They can be ordered here. kayac has also developed an app that exudes the scent of grilled meat.
