posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

The new Pokémon Center Kyoto will open on March 16. The shop will cover 206.2 square meters (or about 2219 square feet) in the Kyoto Takashimaya department store.

A total of 10 Pokémon Centers are currently open throughout Japan with locations in Sapporo, Sendai, Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima and Fukuoka.

The store will stock over 2,500 kinds of Pokémon goods — including exclusive ones to commemorate the opening. Original art showing Pikachu in a kimono featuring Ho-Oh and adorned with a Pokemon Logo Vivillion hair accessory was released with the announcement. Ho-Oh is part of the logo for the Kyoto Pokémon Center.
