Moto Hagio's Sci-Fi Artwork Gets Exhibit in Tokyo

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Moto Hagio, the creator of classic manga works like The Heart of Thomas and They Were 11, is getting her own exhibit this month dedicated to her sci-fi works. The "Moto Hagio Sci-Fi Original Space Play Exhibition, Fly Into a Different World" will open on April 9 at the Kichijoji Art Museum in Mushashino, Tokyo.

The exhibit will focus on Hagio's Star Red, Hyakuoku no Hiru to Senoku no Yoru, They Were 11, and Marginal series with color illustrations and sketches on display for a total of 200 pieces by the artist. Hagio will also release her Moto Hagio SF Artworks illustration collection on April 9 at the venue and in bookstores through out Japan.

An exhibit of Hagio's work was on display last year at Tokyo's Span Art Gallery to celebrate the trade paperback launch of Silver Ship and Blue Sea.
