posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Craig McCracken's The Powerpuff Girls is coming back in an all new series on Cartoon Network on April 6. The show about three crime-fighting girls made of sugar, spice, everything nice, and a little Chemical X will also premiere in Japan on April 9 with a Japanese dub cast of anime alumni.

Aki Toyosaki (Yuruyuri San Hai!, K-ON!, To Love Ru: Darkness) will star as the leader Blossom.

Sumire Uesaka (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, CROSS ANGE, Overlord) will bring the joy and the laughter as Bubbles.

Tomo Muranaka (World Trigger, Atelier Escha & Logy) is voicing the toughest fighter, Buttercup.

The show also cast Hayashiya Shōzō IX as the mayor and narrator, Yoshihisa Kawahara (Fairy Tail Zero, Tamako Market) as Professor Utonium, Kōji Takeda as Mojo JoJo, and Shiho Kokido (Sekkō Boys, Go! Princess Precure) as Princess.

The Powerpuff Girls got their own anime spinoff Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z starring Emiri Katō, Machiko Kawana, and Nami Miyahara in 2006. The girls have joined forces with Hatsune Miku, Aya Hirano, and Japan's Ponta mascot. The heroines are currently crossing over with the idols from the Love Live! franchise.
