Latest Dark Souls III Trailer Reimagines Game as B-Movie Splatter Film

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

From Software's Dark Souls III is a gothic horror-action game. Fans are already enjoying the title after its launch in Japan last week. Bandai Namco America decided to have a little fun on April 1 and released a trailer for the game edited to look like a cheap splatter film of the VHS era.

The game is slated to ship in Europe and North America on April 12.

The "Apocalypse Edition" available in Europe for those who pre-order the game comes with a metal case and a soundtrack, and will be available for all three platforms.

The "Collector's Edition" in Europe will include: the game, a Red Knight figurine, an A4-size Dark Souls Trilogy hardcover artbook, a metal case, a soundtrack, three iron-on patches, a cloth game map, and an exclusive box.

The "Prestige Edition" in Europe will come with the same extras as the "Collector's Edition," as well as a numbered 40-cm Lord of Cinder hand-painted polystone resin figurine and a special display box.

The U.S. "Day One" edition for PS4 and Xbox One will include: a Prima Starter guide, the soundtrack, and a "Day One Edition O Sleeve."

The U.S. Collector's Edition will include: the game, a Red Knight figurine, an artbook, a metal case, a soundtrack, a Prima Starter guide, a cloth game map, and a collector's box.

Hidetaka Miyazaki directed the game at FromSoftware. The game shipped in Japan on March 24 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC release will be available on April 12. A limited number of physical package editions in Japan came with a specially made map and an original soundtrack CD.
