Winner of New Game! Anime's Theme Song Group Name Contest Announced

The official website for the television anime adaptation of of Shōtarō Tokunō's New Game! manga announced the anime's theme song artist unit name as well as the theme song titles on Monday.

The new unit composed of Yūki Takada, Megumi Yamaguchi, Megumi Toda, and Ayumi Takeo will be named "fourfolium." They will perform the opening theme song "Sakura Skip," as well as the ending theme "Now Loading...!" The single CDs for both songs are slated for a July 27 release.

The staff of the anime decided the unit's name based on fan submissions. "Aobato!" from Saitama submitted the winning name, and will receive a copy of the script signed by the cast. The staff received over 2,000 suggestions for the unit name.

In the workplace manga, the main character Aoba Suzukaze graduates from high school and joins a game company. The person who made the game that Aoba loved as a grade-schooler just happens to be Aoba's senior at the company. The story follows girls who work and aspire at the Eaglejump company.

Tokunō launched the manga in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Charat magazine in 2013, and Houbunsha published the third volume in January.

Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Plastic Memories, GJ Club) is directing the series at Doga Kobo (Luck & Logic, Himouto! Umaruchan). Ryohei Takeshita (To Love Ru: Darkness, Maken-Ki! Battling Venus 2 episode director) will serve as assistant director. Fumihiko Shimo (Infinite Stratos, Kokoro Connect) is in charge of series composition, and Ai Kikuchi (Engaged to the Unidentified, Rainbow - Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin) is designing the characters. Hajime Hyakkoku (GJ Club, K-ON!) is composing the music.

The series will premiere in July.
