Ayana Taketatsu Goes Steampunk for Latest Single

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Voice actress and singer Ayana Taketatsu has lent her vocal chops to Dagashi Kashi, Lance N' Masques, High School DxD New, and Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily. On June 22, she'll release her ninth single "Miss. Revolutionist," a song that blends a near future aesthetic, steampunk, and "revolution."

The music video (note: video is region-locked in the U.S.) was created under the supervision of Toshitaka Shinoda, who previously worked Taketatsu on her "Hey! Calorie Queen" single.

Shouko Fujibayashi wrote the song's lyrics. A full version of the music video is included in the single's limited edition release. The story is set in the near future where humans and replicants exist together and there's a general feeling of suspicion among the masses. Individuals who speak out are branded heretics and are subjected to having their personal information exposed and there's a chance anonymous "justice" groups will attack. In a world deprived of freedoms, a girl makes a stand. She doesn't suppress her unpleasant emotions like a replicant. She gathers followers under her code name: Miss. Revolution, however, she also hasn't proven that she isn't an replicant.

Taketatsu will perform the song with another new track at her birthday live event on June 18 at Yamano Hall in Shibuya.
