Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura Dons Seraph of the End Cosplay

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

67-year-old mayor Takashi Kawamura continued his tradition of dressing up for the World Cosplay Summit event in his city of Nagoya this year. Kawamura was seen chatting it up with participants dressed as Crowley Eusford from the aptly chosen Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign and Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya anime series.

The vampire takes over Nagoya's mayor office in the second series.

However, upon further questioning, it seems that the outfit might have been chosen by more fan-oriented staff.

In the past, Kawamura has dressed as historical figure Tokugawa Muneharu, Gintoki from Gintama, Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon, Luffy from One Piece, and and Dragon Ball antagonist Piccolo.

This year is the 14th annual World Cosplay Summit. A total of 30 countries are competing for the title. Last year's competition ultimately crowned Mexico's Twin Cosplay as champions.

The festivities kicked off on July 30-31 with the red carpet cosplay at Laguna Ten Bosch in Gamagori City.
