Studio Trigger Graffiti Shibuya PARCO Wall

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The Shibuya PARCO store in the Udagawacho area is being redeveloped, including the sixth floor of PARCO Part1. Prior to closing the floor on Saturday, the staff of Studio Trigger hijacked one of the walls and decorated it with their own drawings. Every inch was doodled on with characters from Space Patrol Luluco, Kiznaiver, Kill la Kill, Ninja Slayer, and Little Witch Academia.

The walls were drawn by 20 animators from the studio overnight.

Included in the artwork is work from the self-published magazine USCA artists error403, Natsuko Taniguchi, BIRDGSHIP HOUSE, and Tsuchika Nishimura.

In 2013, over 20 manga artists gathered at publisher Shogakukan, Inc.'s former building for an organized drawing event. The nine-story building was demolished to make way for an earthquake-resistant structure. Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine organized the event and manga creators Naoki Urasawa (Monster), Fujiko Fujio A (Doraemon), and Masami Yuuki (Patlabor, Birdy the Mighty) were in attendance.
