Kabaneri's Life-Size Mumei Figure Unveiled in Color

The life-size prototype figure of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' Mumei was unveiled in color at the "Kabaneri & Battery Exhibition ~ Sanshin Mokuhyō de Rokkon Seijō ~" event in the first floor atrium of Odaiba Aqua City's Cinema Mediage on Sunday. The character's voice actress Sayaka Senbongi presented the figure to the audience.

The Noitamina Shop opened a page for the figure where interested fans can submit an application to purchase one of 10 life-size Mumei figures. The figures will be sold based on a lottery system of submitted applications. Each figure will cost 2,500,000 yen (US$24,887).

The figure's design is based off illustrations by original character designer Haruhiko Mikimoto, stands poised in full gear with guns ready. The figure commemorates the upcoming release of the two Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress compilation films.

In regards to the creation of the figure, the creators worked to follow the reference material closely. Chief animation director and character designer Yasuyuki Ebara and overall setting supervisor Junpei Kasaoka supervised the creation. Director Tetsuro Araki checked the gun modeling and some of the anime's production staff also looked over the project in great detail.

The first episode of the original anime Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress aired on April 8 and the series ended with 12 episodes on June 30. It is another product of a collaboration between Wit Studio and director Araki, both responsible for the Attack on Titan anime. Crunchyroll recently announced their plans to dub the anime and release it on Blu-ray Disc and DVD and the series streamed worldwide on Amazon Prime Instant Video.
