Glass Mask Manga Collaborates with Cellphone Screen Protection

Glass Mask, Suzue Miuchi's long-running shōjo manga about an up-and-coming theatre star, is collaborating with Glass Premium Film. The product is a smartphone screen protection film. The company recently added iPhone compatibility and is teaming up with the similarly named manga for a series of comedic commercials.
The first commercials are titled "Kyōka Glass Mask Osoroshii Ko-hen Atype" and "Kyōka Glass Mask Osoroshii Ko-hen Btype" (Reinforced Glass Mask Horrible Child Chapter A-Type/B-Type) and began airing in the Fukuoka region last month.
Miuchi launched the manga in 1975, and it inspired a 1984 television anime series and a 2005-2006 anime remake, as well two live-action television series. There was also a three-part video series that started in 1998. Miuchi acknowledged in 2009 that she would end the manga "soon," and stated in 2014 that the manga is moving closer to the ending. The 50th compiled volume of the manga was delayed indefinitely in 2013, and the 49th volume was released in 2012.
A new spinoff television anime titled 3-Nen D-Gumi Glass no Kamen (3rd Year Class D Glass Mask) was announced last month. It re-imagines the manga and its characters in a school gag comedy focused on satirizing modern society. It will premiere on Tokyo MX on October 3 at 9:55 p.m.
