Sony Releases The Seven Deadly Sins Meliodas Headphones & Walkman

posted on by Amanda Ellard

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

Sony, in collaboration with The Seven Deadly Sins manga and television series, released a new Walkman and headphone pair styled after protagonist Meliodas. The back of the red Walkman bares Meliodas' Dragon's Sin of Wrath mark. The matching headphones show off the same mark on the right side and the series' logo on the left.

The headphones are based off the h.ear on (MDR-100A) stereo headphone model and the Walkman is from the A series' NW-A35HN/R.

Some sweet extras include original art of Meliodas on the packaging and the included poster bonus and the "The Seven Deadly Sins Medley" song from the anime pre-installed onto the Walkman. In Sony showrooms across Japan, visitors can listen to high resolution voice recording of Meliodas (Yūki Kaji) in special exhibition corners.

In addition, Yūki Kaji will appear on December 4 in Tokyo at a commemoration event with J-pop artist Arisa Takigawa, who performed the anime's second ending theme song "Season". Kaji will give a live speech, Takigawa will present a live acoustic performance, and both will hold a talk session during the event.

The first television anime of Nakaba Suzuki's The Seven Deadly Sins manga premiered in Japan in October 2015, and ended with 24 episodes. The manga also bundled two original video anime projects last summer. A four-episode special written by Suzuki himself premiered this past August. Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in North America and Netflix has been streaming the anime series.
