The Dragon Quest video game franchise is in the midst of its 30th anniversary and Universal Studios Japan is joining in the celebrations with the upcoming "Dragon Quest the Real" attraction opening at the park on March 17. The attraction will allow visitors to experience a realistic battle with the franchise's monsters. Participants will wield weapons while exploring a labyrinth, cooperate with their friends, and fight the lair's monstrous inhabitants.
Universal Studios Japan is adding Detective Conan, the Evangelion XR Ride, Godzilla the Real 4D, Attack on Titan the Real 4D 2, and Monster Hunter the Real attractions as part of its Universal Cool Japan 2017 event series launching on January 13 and running to June 25. The park is also planning a "Super Nintendo World" theme park to open at the Universal Studios Japan park in Osaka before the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
