XFlag Studio announced on Tuesday that the Monster Strike smartphone role-playing game is collaborating with Square Enix to celebrate the Final Fantasy franchise's 30th anniversary. The collaboration launched a teaser website that features Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano's illustration of Monster Strike's King Arthur of the Knights of the Round Table.

During the collaboration, Amano's illustration will feature as the startup screen for Monster Strike.

The XFlag Battle Kingdom booth will hold a Monster Strike news event at its Tokaigi gaming event booth in Chiba's Makuhari Messe convention center on Saturday. Amano will appear at the news event for a live drawing session. Niconico will stream various events at the booth live.

Various Final Fantasy projects and games, including Itadaki Street: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary, are celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary. A Cloud and Sephiroth snow sculpture debuted in Sapporo, Hokkaido this week. The Final Fantasy XIV Real Escape Game "Trials of Bahamut" will run in the United States this summer. Cup Noodle is releasing the Final Fantasy Boss Collection with giant fork-sword to mark the anniversary.

Nagoya TV and Lotus announced in October their partnership with Amano for a "Ninja Vampire" concept. Amano is also providing character designs for the Chō Shōnen Tantei-dan NEO Project.
