CG Doraemon Stars in Job Fair Commercial

"The interesting thing about the future is, you can change it"

With his bottomless pocket of sophisticated gadgets and boundless optimism, Doraemon is a symbol of the possibilities of the future for many Japanese. This symbolism is being put to good use in a new commercial for My Navi 2018, a job information site.

The commercial stars Yuina Kuroshima (Ju-on: The Final, Sakurada Reset, Aoi Honō) as a frustrated job seeker. She stares at a form asking where she sees herself in ten years, and exclaims, "I don't know about my future." Text, implied to be from Doraemon, states, "It's O.K. if you don't know. The interesting thing about the future is, you can change it."

This shorter version is mostly identical, but we see Kuroshima exclaim "All right!" at the end. The commercial advertises two upcoming job fairs, both in March. One is a series of expos that will be held in 14 different places around Japan, and the other is an online version that will be held here.

The 37th Doraemon film, Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Nankyoku Kachi Kochi Daibōken, premieres on March 4. To promote it, Doraemon's gotten a VR experience, ice rink, and even a trip to Antarctica with Nobita.

Boruto -Naruto the Movie- has also been used to advertise a jobs site, although in this case with a mock chūnin exam.
