Black Butler Manga Creator Designs Anime's New Pumps

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Anime News Network's merchandise coverage sponsored by Tokyo Otaku Mode.

The shoe brand Tyake Tyoke revealed its new Black Butler: Book of Circus pumps for the Super Groupies online retailer on Friday. The shoes were developed based on Black Butler manga creator Yana Toboso's proposed design.

The clothes of the anime's main characters Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive inspired the black-and-white and black-and-blue "short boots." Anime fans can maintain their otaku aesthetic even on rainy days because these shoes are waterproof.

The pumps retail at 19,800 yen (about US$175) for each pair, and Super Groupies is accepting orders now.

Tyake Tyoke released high heels inspired by Ciel Phantomhive's pretty pink dress in January 2016. Other works to inspire Tyake Tyoke shoes include xxxHolic, Love Live!, Madoka Magica, and Tales.

The watch and accessory brand Feerique Gateau is also offering a Black Butler: Book of Circus compact mirror through Super Groupies. The design is based on Ciel's ring with a blue stone in the anime that the Phantomhive family has passed down for generations. The faithful recreation of Ciel's ring has an antique finish.

The mirror costs 4,800 yen (about US$42). Super Groupies is accepting preorders for both the shoes and the mirror from Friday until February 28. The items are slated to ship in the middle of June.

Feerique Gateau unveiled a Card Captor Sakura wristwatch in 2015.
