Lupin III's Curry Restaurant Collaboration Offers Fiat 500

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

The official website for the Curry House CoCo Ichibanya (CoCo Ichi) restaurant chain's collaboration with the Lupin the Third franchise updated on Tuesday. The website revealed a visual of Lupin using a uniform to sneak into CoCo Ichi for his own possibly nefarious purposes.

The site also announced a project to give away a real version of the character's Fiat 500. People can use their CoCo Ichi receipts with totals of at least 900 yen (about US$8) to enter a prize lottery for original merchandise. People can use their smartphones to take pictures of their receipts or mail in their receipts for a chance to win.

The top prize is one Fiat 500, an Italian compact car that Lupin drives. Other prizes include 39 Lupin the Third spoons with diamond-studded bullet holes, 80 mini refrigerators that look like safes with four kinds of Umagen curry, 300 gold bar-shaped curry plates with five kinds of CoCo Ichi curry, 300 gold bath towels, and 1,000 CoCo Ichi meal tickets worth 1,000-yen (US$9).

People who spend at least 900 yen at CoCo Ichi restaurants will also be able to enter a separate prize lottery. The prizes include drink tickets and six varieties of puzzle pin badges that fit together. People who do not win either of those prizes can collect three tickets and enter for a chance to win one of 500 complete puzzle pin badge sets.

The Lupin collaboration will run from April 1 to May 31 at CoCo Ichi restaurants throughout Japan. The deadline to enter the prize lotteries will be June 9.

The campaign launched a teaser website earlier this month. Restaurants throughout Japan are displaying cards with the same message from the manga and anime's title character that appeared on the website. Lupin's message reads, "I will help myself to CoCo Ichi's treasure."
