One Piece 'Whole Cake Island' Arc Gets Figures, Merchandise in Lottery Event

Eiichiro Oda's wildly popular One Piece is getting a new lottery event, "Aim at the Number 1 One Piece Lottery!! Whole Cake Island," beginning on May 13. The event will be held at select convenience stores and hobby shops across Japan in order to celebrate the upcoming "Whole Cake Island" arc, which will air starting with the 783rd episode on April 9.

The Whole Cake Island-themed lottery prizes are divided into eight tiers and include 23 possible items.

Fans who participate in the lottery can also enter to win an alternate color version of the Sanji figure as a "Last One" prize by sending in their lottery ticket stubs. The figure can also be won through a special "Double Chance" campaign that will run until August 13. More information can be found at the lottery website.

The One Piece manga began in 1997 and has over 350 million copies in print worldwide as of April 1. The anime began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and recently ended the "Marine Rookie" arc on April 2.
