Takahiro Sakurai Promotes Apartment Complex as Butler Chipmunk

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Many people moving into new places ask their prospective neighbors about the area before deciding on a new home. Humans can probably provide the best advice for fellow people seeking to move into a new apartment. But if we could talk to them, local animals would also provide unique bird's-eye—or chipmunk's-eye—perspectives on living spaces.

UR Toshi Kikō is combining a mammalian point of view with popular voice actors to promote its Masago Daiichi Danchi apartments in Chiba. The company began streaming a promotional video on Monday featuring voice actor Takahiro Sakurai (Mr. Osomatsu's Osomatsu, Berserk's Griffith, Code Geass' Suzaku Kururugi) as a butler chipmunk.

In the video, the a tiny male chipmunk highlights the charms of the neighborhood as he walks around the complex's area in spring. The apartments full of innovation have easy access to Masago Central Park, a train station, shopping, and other amenities. Sakurai's chipmunk says the apartments have a good view of cherry blossom trees and other scenery. The video is targeted at young women looking for places to live.

Sakurai is not the apartments' first chipmunk butler. UR Toshi Kikō began streaming a fall promotional video in December that features Yūki Kaji (Attack on Titan's Eren Jaeger, Joker Game's Hatano, My Hero Academia's Shōto Todoroki) as the chipmunk.

If the campaign is a success, both anime and animal lovers will be vying for places in Masago Daiichi Danchi. Would you rent an apartment from a chipmunk?
