Tokyo's Meat Festival Adds 'Anime Day' with Gundam 00 Director, Musical Acts

This year's edition of Tokyo's Autumn NikuFest (Meat Festival) is adding events to entice anime fans, besides all the carnivorous dishes. The event is adding an anime day as well as idol stages and a burlesque performance.
The event will kick off anime day on September 16 with a round table discussion featuring Mobile Suit Gundam 00 director Seiji Mizushima followed by a live performance by the duo ORESAMA. ORESAMA performed the first opening for this season's Magical Circle Guru-Guru as well as Wolf Girl & Black Prince and Alice & Zoroku.
Other guests include Earth Star Dream's Arisa Aihara, Popin Q producer Hiroshi Kanemaru, singer and voice actress Megu Sakuragawa, singers Faylan and Haruka Tōjō, idol group i☆Ris' Dzu, the multimedia entertainment work LiveRevolt, The Niigata prefecture AKB48 sister group NGT48, DJ Time Pripara ft.Blacklolita, and DJ Caesar. There will also be an anisong dance party and preliminary screening of upcoming fall season anime series.
The NikuFest at Komazawa Olympic Park in Setagawa in 2015 hosted Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma actress Minami Takahashi and a sponsored Food Wars! booth cooked up some dishes for attendees.
Japan's National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Associations' meat-loving mascot "Zeushi-kun" got his own anime shorts. Kadokawa released a manga anthology dedicated to canned meat last year and one webcomic broke down beef production in simple, pixel artwork.
