A Lovelorn Heidi Stars in Cup Noodle's Latest 'Hungry Days' Anime Ad

Nissin Foods' Cup Noodle brand is using nostalgia to appeal to potential customers in its "Hungry Days" campaign. The ads first starred a grown-up Kiki from Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service. In the ad, the now high school age witch confesses her feelings to Tombo.
The campaign returned to its themes of young love blended with classic characters in a new ad that premiered on Wednesday. The 30-second animated clip stars Heidi of Heidi, Girl of the Alps, her love interest Peter, and Klara. Heidi pines for Peter but feels she cannot compete with the elegant, beautiful Klara who now has a burgeoning modeling career.
Heidi is voiced by E-girls actress and dancer Anna Ishii, Klara is voiced by Sora Amemiya, and Peter is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya.
BUMP OF CHICKEN returns to provide the ad's theme song "Kinen Satsuei" (Commemorative Photo) and manga creator Eisaku Kubonouchi (Chocolat, Cherry) again designed the characters for the ad
