The voice actress group Sphere held their final concert until 2019 on Sunday. Mobile Suit Gundam principal creator Yoshiyuki Tomino was in attendance to mark the occasion.
The official Twitter account for the Gundam Reconguista in G anime revealed on Saturday that Tomino had attended that day's performance. The account noted that the performance was "more or less" Tomino's first idol concert and added that it became "study" for him.
The "We are Sphere!!!!" began in Kanagawa on June 3 and ended at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba on Sunday.
Sphere announced in March that the group is going on hiatus from touring and music as of the end of this year's "We are Sphere!!!!" tour. 2019 will mark the 10th anniversary of the group, and the members explained that they will go into a "recharging period" before then. The group will not release CDs or perform concerts until the anniversary in 2019. However, they will continue appearing as Sphere on programs, and they will also continue working as voice actresses and solo artists.
The Sphere group is made up of voice actresses Minako Kotobuki, Ayahi Takagaki, Haruka Tomatsu, and Aki Toyosaki. They performed themes for Hatsukoi Limited, Sora no Manimani, Demon King Daimao, Cat Planet Cuties, Zakuro, Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow, Squid Girl, Natsu-iro Kiseki, the third season of Bakuman., Arata The Legend, I couldn't become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job., Nanana's Buried Treasure, Yatterman Night, Ultimate Otaku Teacher, Matoi the Sacred Slayer, and Two Car.
