It won the general award at the 36th annual Fujimoto Awards this year, was nominated for San Francisco Film Critics Awards' Best Animated Feature Award, and has a Hollywood live-action film adaptation in the works, although fans are cautious about the adaptation. Its theme song was also a top karaoke choice this year.
