Anime-Inspired TV Show Will Kick Off Galaga Immersive Universe

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The upcoming Galaga animated series is looking to follow in the footsteps of Voltron; i.e. it will mimic the anime look. The series is tentatively titled Galaga Chronicles | Revolution Age and besides adopting an "anime-inspired" look, the creative team is collaborating on something akin to a Galaga universe, combining the TV show with an interactive game, immersive experience, and even game tournaments.

The Nuttery Entertainment and Meow Wolf are the minds behind the operation. The two companies will bridge the world of the animated series with merchandising, physical exhibitions, live media, and "Score Wars," a gaming competition that will launch in conjunction with the Galaga World Championship in Santa Fe, New Mexico on March 29.

Galaga Chronicles | Revolution Age is expected to launch first, which means we can expect to see the new series pretty soon.

Meow Wolf previously created the House of Eternal Return interactive installation to much acclaim, so it seems Galaga is in good hands. How both companies will create such a vast world from an alien shooter though, will be a tough nut to crack.
