The Niconico streaming service's Niconico Enquete poll website conducted a poll on Thursday to determine respondents' favorite anime of 2017. Yahoo! also awarded Kemono Friends in the Anime division of its "Yahoo! Search Award 2017" ceremony last month.

The Niconico Enquete website held a similar poll last year, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable topped the list.

This year, the poll also asked users about their favorite anime buzzwords for the year. Respondents chose from a list of 109 words and phrases. Here are the top five results:

In addition, Niconico's 2017 poll asked users about their favorite characters in anime that aired last year. However, the website has not posted those results.

By just 12 votes, the second season of My Hero Academia edged out Made in Abyss to top ANN's reader poll for the best anime of 2017.
