Yūichi Nakamura Plays Romantic Chipmunk in Apartment Promo Video

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

For more than a year, UR Toshi Kikō has been been promoting its apartments with promotional videos featuring famous voice actors as chipmunks. Yūki Kaji starred in the original fall-themed video that debuted in December 2016. Takahiro Sakurai voiced a butler chipmunk for a spring video in April 2017, and Jun Fukuyama played a spoiled child chipmunk for a summer video last August. Rounding out the season-themed videos, Yūichi Nakamura plays a chipmunk in love in a winter video that debuted on Thursday.

The video promotes the Canal Town West apartments in Kōbe, Hyōgo. The video is targeted at working men looking for a "sweet home."

The video begins with a romanticist chipmunk introducing himself and his apparent significant other. The male chipmunk calls her "kitten," but she says she is an adult chipmunk. The pair look at the scenery at the Canal Town West apartments at night. The male chipmunk remarks that the lighting isn't too bright, and it reminds him of Amsterdam at night, although he has never been to the European city. The female chipmunk wonders if it's some kind of special day. The male says the apartments look like this every day, but he teases her that it might be a special day for the two of them. She says it looks like the lights are welcoming residents home. The male continues to describe the area with romantic banter.

A man standing near the complex then describes the apartments' special outdoor lighting. He describes how the lights provide safety when commuting to or from work without being overbearing. The two chipmunks then praise the apartments while flirting with each other. The male chipmunk apologizes and says he will see viewers again.

The video does not identify the voice actress who played the female chipmunk. Nakamura's anime roles include Mr. Osomatsu's Karamatsu, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt's Io Fleming, Utano☆Princesama Legend Star's Ringo Tsukimiya, Haikyu!!'s Tetsurō Kuroo, and Fairy Tail's Gray Fullbuster.
